Rod Gillespie – Partner

Rod has an extensive private practice with a particular emphasis on Trusts and asset planning. Rod also acts for many substantial companies.

He is a past President and a past Club Captain of the Hutt Golf Club, and a Trustee of the Te Omanga Hospice Foundation.

1. How would you describe your style of law/practice or your approach to dealing with clients?
   My most important goal is to obtain their trust. Prompt and good service providing practical and affordable solutions for the matter in hand.
2. If you had a single piece of advice to give a person in relation to forming a trust what would it be?
   Is it necessary for you?
3. What has had the biggest impact on how you practice law over recent years?
   The maturity of the practice leading to dealing and coping with matters of much greater complexity and challenge.
4. When you are not being a lawyer what do you like doing most?
   Playing 18 holes of golf.
5. Who gave you the best piece of advice in relation to your legal career and what was it?
   Don Inglis QC DCJ now deceased. Continue with plans to establish own practice.
6. What is your favourite quote?
